Zapier Agents is the fastest way for a business user to put AI to work across mainstream SaaS tools. It rides Zapier's 9,000+ app catalog, sets up in an afternoon with no engineering, triggers on events or schedules, and bills usage as metered activities on published plan tiers. For lightweight cross-app automation it is excellent.
The design center is different from Context's. - 9,000+ apps means the long tail of SaaS tools is covered. If the job is moving data between mainstream tools with modest reasoning per step, nothing connects faster.
- A business user owns the automation.
- No engineering, familiar UI, published pricing, and a free tier to experiment on. Lead triage, meeting prep, and inbox routing ship the same day.
- You already run on Zaps.
- If deterministic Zaps carry your operations, adding agent behavior inside the same platform and billing relationship is the lowest-friction step.

- The work needs depth, not glue.

- Moving a record between apps is glue; reading forty documents and drafting a memo is work. Classify your workflows by reasoning depth and match the tool to the class.
- What are the run caps, and what hits them?
- Activity caps are fine for short automations and fatal for long ones. Ask for the caps in writing and test your heaviest workflow against them before buying.
- Where does the deliverable come from?
- If the output is a real document, ask which product produces it, in what format, with what sources attached, and how a reviewer approves it before it ships.
- What would a security review say about each?
- SaaS-only with stored app connections reads very differently from VPC or on-premises deployment with runtime-brokered credentials. Run the shorter review first; it may decide for you.
- How does each product recover from failure?
- Ask what happens when a run dies mid-flight: does it resume from the last good step with state intact, or start over and double-post into your systems?
- What do costs look like when volume 10x's?
- Metered activities grow linearly with volume. Ask whether the platform can route work to cheaper models over time, and what the same workflow costs in month twelve.
